Co-Founder & Director
Garry Baverstock is an architect and author. He co-founded solar-e.com along with Dr. Bill Parker, a former environmental scientist who now writes on renewable energy. Garry is the CEO of solar-e.com’s parent company Wise Earth P/L, a company owned and registered in Western Australia.

Garry has been designing and building low energy buildings for decades. His architecture has won numerous awards since 1971 including the Australian Design Award, National Energy Award, and the WA Environment Award. He has been a long time promoter of solar and renewable energy use, education, and research. His emphasis on the importance of education is clearly evident from his roles as an Adjunct Associate Professor in Energy Studies as well as the Coordinator of the MSc in Environmental Architecture degree program at Murdoch University. He is also the Manager of the Built Environment Program at Murdoch University’s Research Institute for Sustainable Energy (RISE).
Garry is a Fellow of the Royal Australian Institute of Architects and a Patron of the Conservation Council of Western Australia (CCWA). He is the Interim President of the WA Branch of the Australian Solar Energy Society (AuSES) and an active member of the International Solar Energy Society (ISES).
He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture and a Master’s Degree in Building from Curtin University of Technology.
