Ecovillages are small communities of about 100 people living together in order to reduce their impact on nature.
In an ecovillage people are organised in a small-scale community with minimal ecological impact. They have centralized electrical, water, and sewage systems, and use renewable energy sources. Many see the breakdown of traditional wasteful consumerist lifestyle, destruction of natural habitat, urban extension, factory farming, as trends that must be changed to avert ecological disaster.
Solar and wind energy system is centralised and used for many people at the same time.
