Local governments around the world change their policy towards using more alternative energy sources addressing global concern about the climate change.
Here are a few examples.
Australia – NSW – The NSW Government has secured 165 new solar energy jobs in Western Sydney… NSW government announces gross solar energy feed-in tariffs.
Australia – VIC – The Government will promote renewable energy by spending $100 million to establish a new regional solar power station, subject to the Federal Government matching its commitment.
USA – The Department of Energy is committed to reducing America’s dependence on foreign oil and developing energy efficient technologies for buildings, homes, transportation, power systems and industry. The mission of the Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (EERE) is to strengthen America’s energy security, environmental quality, and economic vitality in public and private partnerships.
Germany – Germany has become the world’s leader in solar technology since its beginnings in the early 80’s and with dramatic growth happening at the end of 1990 after the creation of major incentives from the German government that made solar products “financially very interesting”.
Canada – The introduction of Ontario’s Green Energy Act, modeled after the successful German Feed-in Tariffs, is expected to fuel rapid growth in the clean energy market in Ontario.
Spain – The number of installed photovoltaic systems is growing exponentially, and researchers continue to explore new ways to promote and improve solar power.
