About the Tecto Pergolas
The timber pergola is an attractive addition to any house and very much a part of our built environment. Unfortunately, however, most pergolas do not function adequately in helping to alternatively heat and shade your house. The tecto pergola overcomes this problem.
The tecto pergola is a system of permanently fixed sun screening blades. The angled timber blades are designed so that in summer when the sun is at its highest point the sun’s rays bounce off the blades, shading the ground, walls and windows of your house. In winter the lower sun angle allows direct radiation through to the interior of your house, giving you a natural heat gain where it is most needed.
Sun Room / Games Room
As an additional room to your house or for enclosing a patio or courtyard, the sun-room / games room is ideal. Competitive in cost, the glass and timber structure has the added benefit of heating the house in winter and cooling quickly at night in summer.
The angled timber blades over the glass roof allow full sun penetration in winter thus helping to heat your house, while in summer the room cools more quickly than the rest of the house making it a very pleasant area early mornings and evenings.
The tecto pergola system will enhance outdoor living areas, making them useable all year round.
As shading to windows and skylights, the tecto pergola will provide summer shade and winter warmth without sacrificing natural light.
There are three types of licensing arrangements currently available relating to the Tecto Pergola:
1) D.I.Y License:
“Do it yourself ” information for your part of the world.
Conditions:
*Licence to build a Tecto Pergola on your home only.
*Information is not transferable to any other site or persons.
*Information cannot be used for commercial purposes.
*Strictly confidential information for the licensee only.
*The product in any publication must describe the system as a Tecto Pergola and credit to the designer, Garry Baverstock, must be noted.
Cost: $100 AUD
2) Builder’s License:
Builder licence for own projects.
Conditions:
*The builder must agree to audit information at any time to check the number of Tecto Pergolas built.
*Instructions are to be strictly followed.
*Any advice or design work is to be charged for by the Tecto Pergola design team.
*Acknowledgement of the name of the product and the author of the design must be present in any publicity material (eg. Tecto Pergola, designed by architect Garry Baverstock, in 1978.).
Cost:
Build up to 10 Tecto Pergolas – $2000 AUD per year
Build 11 to 30 Tecto Pergolas – $3000 AUD per year
Build over 30 Tecto Pergolas – $5000 AUD per year
3) Franchise Manufacturer:
For supply, or supply & fix licence for a particular region or state.
Conditions:
*WISE EARTH P/L retains the copyright.
*The licence is not transferable to another party.
*Quality standards of Tecto Pergola must be met.
*WISE EARTH P/L reserves the right to issue licences to a limited number of manufacturers to maintain quality and competition options for consumers and clients.
*Acknowledgement of the name of the product and the author of the design must be present in any publicity material (eg. Tecto Pergola, designed by architect Garry Baverstock, in 1978.).
*All advertising (if required by the franchisee) on the internet must be via solar-e.com and/or it’s related sites.
Cost:
Annual fee of $5000 AUD (for sales handled direct by the franchisee), plus 5% royalty for projects specified via WISE EARTH companies or referred from the web site.
